School Open Days and Tours

Fleetdown Primary Academy Tours for parents of children starting Reception in September 2026. Applications for transfer to primary school in September 2026 will open on Friday 7th November 2025 and close on Thursday 15th January 2026.

We welcome parents and carers to come and look around our school!

The dates and times of our Early Years school tours are:

Presentation and tour

  • 5th November – 9am and 2:30pm
  • 19th November – 9am and 2:30pm

Tours

  • 12th November 2025 2pm-3pm
  • 26th November 2025 2pm-3pm
  • 3rd December 2025 2pm-3pm

In Year Admissions

If you would like to apply for a place at Fleetdown Primary Academy outside of the normal admissions round, you will need to complete an In-Year Admission Form and return it to Courtney Rowlings via the Main Office.  You must also provide supporting evidence to show that you are living at the address from which the application is being made, details are as follows:-

 

  1. Your child’s full birth certificate and valid passport;
  2. 2025-2026 Council Tax Statement OR signed tenancy agreement;
  3. ONE of the following documents:a)         Driver’s licence;
    b)         Schedule of motor insurance;
    c)         Utility bill such as gas/electricity/water/telephone/broadband;
    d)         Payslip.
  4. Any ONE of the following to show your child is also living at this address at the same time:
    1. Child or Working Tax Credit/Child Benefit/JSA/Disability Benefit/Universal Credit Letter;
    2. Savings account statement;
    3. NHS medical card;
    4. NHS immunisation letter;
    5. Hospital appointment letter;
    6. GP registration letter;
    7. Pre-school/nursery invoice (for Reception children only).

If there are no places available at the time of your application, your child will be placed on the waiting list.  Applicants are prioritised in accordance with our over-subscription criteria:

  1. Looked After Children and previously Looked After Children
  2. Health, Social and Special Access Reasons
  3. Current Family Association
  4. Children of Staff
  5. Nearness of children’s homes to school
Appeals

Appeals for In-Year Admissions

Once a pupil has been placed on the waiting list, if the parent so chooses, they can submit an appeal with the Appeals Team at Kent County Council.  Further details on the appeals process can be found at Appeal a school offer – Kent County Council.

Appeals

If your child is due to start Primary school in September 2026, you can appeal if you are refused a place at one of your preferred schools on National Offer Day (Thursday, 16 April 2026). You must submit your appeal before Monday 18 May 2026 for it to be considered by Monday 20 July 2026. Any appeals received after this time will be heard within 40 school days from the deadline, or where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education.

For late applications, appeals should be heard within 40 school days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education.

Deadline for late applications and waiting list requests to be included in Kent County Council’s reallocation stage. Also date by which places should be accepted or declined to schools

Deadline for lodging of appeals.

Appeals information can be found at www.kent.gov.uk/schoolappeals . You can only appeal for schools that were named on your original application.

Thursday 21 May 2026

Offer day for the second round of applications (known as reallocation). After this date waiting lists will be maintained by the schools and they will send out offers for any places that may become available. Parents that have received an offer of a school place from KCC can approach schools directly for alternative places.
